Ghana’s Black Princesses have left the country for Poland as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The team, together with the technical team, departed Accra on Sunday, August 16, after completing their final preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Coach Charles Sampson and his players have been in camp since July 5 as they prepared for the tournament, which will run from September 5 to 27.
Ghana qualified for the World Cup after coming through the African qualifying campaign and will now face three group-stage opponents in Poland.
The Black Princesses have been drawn in Group C, where they will play Ecuador, South Korea and France.
Their opening game will be against Ecuador on September 6. They will then take on South Korea on September 9, before completing their group matches against France on September 12.
The tournament will bring together 24 teams representing all six FIFA confederations.
Hosts Poland will be making their first appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The 2026 tournament will be the 12th edition of the competition, with Korea DPR heading into the tournament as defending champions.
The Black Princesses will now continue their final preparations in Poland before beginning their World Cup campaign
