CAPE COAST — Former Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson, has engaged NPP women’s organisers in the Central Region as part of her campaign to contest the position of National Women’s Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The engagement took place at the NPP Party Office in the Central Region, where regional and constituency women’s organisers gathered to welcome her and hear her vision for the women’s wing of the party.
Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson used the occasion to outline her plans for strengthening the party’s women’s wing, with emphasis on unity, grassroots mobilisation, women’s empowerment and increased participation in party activities.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the organisers to raise issues affecting women within the party and interact with the former minister on her plans ahead of the NPP’s National Delegates Conference.
Her visit forms part of her engagements with delegates and party members across the country as she seeks support for the National Women’s Organiser position.
The Central Region is expected to play an important role in the contest, with aspirants stepping up engagements with delegates ahead of the election.
