Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo has proceeded with the burial of her father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, despite an ongoing legal dispute over the funeral arrangements.
The burial ceremony was held at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region as part of a three-day funeral program that will also move to the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions.
The funeral of the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission has been linked to a court case following disagreements among family members over issues surrounding the organization of his final rites. The matter remains before the High Court, with the substantive issues yet to be determined.
Despite the pending legal process, mourners gathered at Gomoa Mpota to pay their respects to Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka. The ceremony attracted relatives, members of the Kristo Asafo Mission, traditional leaders, friends and sympathizers.
The burial featured traditional funeral rites, tributes from family members and reflections on the life and achievements of the late Apostle.
Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka was widely recognized for his work in technology, engineering and entrepreneurship. Through the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Group, he became known for promoting indigenous innovation and local manufacturing.
The funeral activities are expected to continue in the Greater Accra and Ashanti regions as part of the planned program.
Meanwhile, the legal dispute over the funeral arrangements remains before the court, with further proceedings expected to address the outstanding issues.
