Fetu Afahye 2026: Dr Anastasia Kumi Korsah Gives Back to Abura Community

CAPE COAST — Dr Anastasia Kumi Korsah, a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Cape Coast North Constituency, has organised a free health screening exercise and a food get-together for residents as part of activities marking the Oguaa Fetu Afahye 2026 celebrations.

The free health screening was held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Abura Market, where residents, traders and other members of the community were given the opportunity to access basic health screening services at no cost.

The initiative, according to Dr Kumi Korsah, was aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and encouraging members of the community to pay greater attention to their health, particularly during the festive season.

The health screening provided an opportunity for beneficiaries to check their health status and receive advice from health professionals on healthy living and the need to seek medical attention when necessary.

As part of her contribution to the Fetu Afahye celebrations, Dr Kumi Korsah on Friday, September 4, 2026, also organised a free food get-together, bringing residents and community members together to share food and celebrate the festival in a spirit of unity and togetherness.

The event created an atmosphere of friendship and communal bonding, with beneficiaries expressing appreciation to Dr Kumi Korsah for putting together initiatives to support residents during the annual Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebrations.

Dr Anastasia Kumi Korsah, who is seeking to represent the Cape Coast North Constituency on the ticket of the NPP, has over the period engaged in activities aimed at connecting with residents and contributing to the welfare of people within the constituency.

The two-day initiative forms part of efforts by individuals and organisations to complement the activities of the Oguaa Traditional Council and contribute to making Fetu Afahye 2026 meaningful to residents and visitors.

The initiative has also highlighted the importance of combining festive celebrations with community-oriented programmes such as healthcare promotion, social support and community engagement.
