Nana Kweku Ennu III Advises Youth Against Hard Drugs

KOKOADO APEWOSIKA, CENTRAL REGION — The Chief of Kokoado Apewosika and Mawerehen of the Oguaa Traditional Council, Oyeadeiyie Nana Kweku Ennu III, has urged the youth to shun hard drugs and other harmful substances, encouraging them to adopt responsible lifestyles that will secure their future.

He cautioned that substance abuse could undermine the aspirations of young people and prevent them from achieving their goals.

Nana Kweku Ennu III made the appeal during a church service to mark his 72nd birthday at the Mozano Disco Christo Church branch in Kokoado Apewosika, near the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

He encouraged young people to make positive choices, respect their parents and elders, and engage in productive activities that would contribute to their personal development and the progress of their communities.

Reflecting on his contribution to youth development and the church, the chief disclosed that he established a choral group, the Royal Choir, three years ago by mobilising young people in the community.

He said the initiative was intended to provide the youth with an opportunity to develop their musical talents while engaging in meaningful activities through music and Christian service.

Nana Kweku Ennu III expressed delight that the choir had participated in a competition at the national headquarters of the church for the first time and delivered an impressive performance.

He said the group’s performance earned it promotion to Category B, describing the achievement as a significant milestone for its members.

As part of his continued support for the church and the groups he had helped establish, the chief disclosed that he had donated a set of chairs to both the Royal Choir and the church’s prayer group.

He expressed hope that the gesture would encourage members to sustain their activities and inspire more young people in the community to discover and develop their talents.

The birthday celebration brought together church members, traditional leaders, family members, friends and well-wishers, who joined Nana Kweku Ennu III in giving thanks to God for his 72 years of life and service to the community.
